The The league will start on Tuesday Jan' 12th, 2010 and be played every consequative Tuesday without break until it comes to an end on Tuesday May 25th. Teams will play two home matches and two away matches with every other team.

The final date for payment of all subscriptions and pool table operators fees is Dec' 15th, 2009, the draw will be made as soon as possible after this date with the teams who are paid in full including the pool table operators fee.

You can download the La Cala league guidelines and any extra score sheets from the links above for more information.

1) Fund

POOL TABLE OPERATORS - Econ will add to the league fund 100 Euros plus 50 Euros per team with an Econ pool table, 'operators of any tables used by any teams entering the league will be expected to do the same'. E.g. Operator with 1 table used by 1 team will pay 150 Euros, with 2 tables used for 2 teams will pay 200 Euros etc.

Pool table operators 'just like dart board operators' know the financially benefit from being involved in a pool league, getting back more money 'in many cases much more' than the small amount they pay towards being involved in a league costs them, and on top of that: someone else is doing all the hard work 'without charge' involved in getting the league together for them to make more money... so generally your operator will be happy to pay the entry fee.
We know most of the pool table operators on the coast so if you let us know who owns your table we should be able to sort that side out for you.

There is an optional advertising fee of 500 Euros for operators, this will give them placement of their logo and telephone number in results published in a local newspaper, these results will only be published if operators and/or sponsors contribute towards this.

Why should an operator pay 100 euros entry fee plus 50 euros per table?

a) An operator gets promotion of his rental business through his table being involved in the league while a bar owner doesn't have a pool table business to promote.

b) The operators name will be on all paperwork including results and results boards for customers to see (as a), * if * the results get published in a newspaper then their name will be there only if they pay the advertising fee of 500 Euros.

c) A pool table operator does not have to pay to take part in the league but their table cannot be used in our leagues if the operator entry fees are not paid, if other operators involved pay the entry fees then why should one be exempt?

With a league an operator can support the business they are involved in but also have the opportunity of earning more in returns and promoting their business from doing so?

PRIVATE TABLES - Bars who own their table and are entering a team will need to pay 50 Euros bar entry fee, this also goes towards the league fund.

2) Subscription - Teams will be expected to pay 25 Euros subscription fee plus a 25 Euros deposit, this deposit will be returned to teams who complete all their fixtures within the designated dates. Subscription payments will go into the league prize fund.

3) Prizes - Any monies raised will be placed into the league fund and will be used for a winners team trophy and small winning team players trophies. Any monies remaining will then be used for 'the beers' at the presentation of the trophies at the winning teams venue. The entry fees and pool table operators payments are not excessive and so will not cover the costs of any presentation party or dinner, the monies remaining after various trophies or prizes are covered will be put towards the bar at the winning teams home venue at the presentation.

Before the league starts we will publish on this web site the total fund and it's sources along with the trophy costs breakdown, this cannot really be done accurately until we know the actual teams as fund income varies between the number of operators tables and the number of privately owned tables involved.

4) Sponsorship - If any company of business feels that would like to contribute towards sponsorship then please contact Mike, it doesn't need to cost a lot and the returns are generally more than be worth it.

5) Doubts - If you want to know what it is like to be part of a pool league then visit the Fuengirola pool league page, the teams are all linked to information including telephone numbers of team captains etc. so you can them a call and get answers from those taking part in another league.

Econ organise their leagues free of charge, in fact they generally cost a considerable amount of time and cost to organise, especially if results are published in a local newspaper (Relative to costs). All monies taken are used towards the league.

The objective of Econ pool leagues is for people to have fun and enjoy themselves along with the promoting the game of pool on the coast.

Bars who have paid and signed up to the league are as follows:
Win Sports - (Paid 50 table 'Econ' + 25 subs + 25 dep = 100)
Studio 1 - (Paid 50 table 'Econ' + 25 subs + 25 dep = 100)
The Captains - (Paid 50 table 'JJ Pool' + 25 subs + 25 dep = 100)
Steves bar - (Paid 50 table + 25 subs + 25 dep = 100)
Streets of London - (Paid 50 table + 25 subs + 25 dep = 100)
Paramount - (Paid 50 table + 25 subs + 25 dep = 100)

Operators fees: (See above for table fees)
Econ pool - (Paid 100 operators entry = 100)
JJ Pool - (Paid 100 operators entry = 100)

League fund collected:
Total amount collected = 800
